holy hotness

Holy cow if you are looking for a book that gives you heat and a great story-line look no further.

In this book we meet Reese and Bobbi. Reese is a man who has just retired from the military for his first stop as a free man he thinks that he will hit Las Vegas. Oh ya did I mention he is a British werebear? Talk about heat right there. On his way though he gets a call from his old military buddy named Daniel asking him to check on his human sister in their hometown. Reese thinks will probably be an in and out check things out make the bullies stop and be on his way what he finds is so much more.

Bobbi is adopted and her adoptive parents were killed in a car wreck 2 years earlier. While it has never been her dream to run a cafe & motel this is what she is doing nowadays just to make ends meet. Bobbi knows nothing about her adoptive parents or her brother because before she was old enough to be told they were killed. Daniel isn't around very much with his military career so he figured why tell her. Well the reason why just walked into the cafe looking good enough for Bobbi to eat in one bite, or die trying at least. Bobbi feels the instant pull but doesn't understand it like Reese does. Resse figures out pretty quick that he has found his mate but with Bobbi being human can she accept him? Will she get the chance to find out when the town's biggest bully has set his sites on her and isn't taking no for an answer.

Like it started this review, this book is hot. There are so many twists and turns in this book like will her brother come home to help save her or will he be stuck overseas? Will Bobbi be able to handle the attraction between her and Reese? Can she handle finding out he is a bear? Will the town bully get her before Reese gets to lay it all out for her? These questions and more are answered in this book. It is a short read but packs a punch. I would highly recommend it.

WOW! Another spectacular page-turner from Mina Carter. Mina has delivered yet another deliciously cute, super-sexy, paranormal tale filled to the brim with heart-wrenching drama, heart-pounding danger, heart-stopping action, heated attraction, fiery passion, dreamy romance and of course, steamy sex. This is, after all, a Mina Carter story we're talking about and we all know that Mina writes the best steamy, dreamy sex - ever! The narrative is exceptionally well written in the third person with alternating his and her points of view. The dialogue is smart, sassy and flows effortlessly. And my very favorite part of every Mina Carter book is always the characters. They are captivating, engaging, endearing and downright adorable. It always amazes me just how much delectable reading goodness Mina can pack into one little story - but she does - every single time. So, if you love a fast-paced, fun-filled, good-time read, then buckle up - here we go again!

Brit-born Werebear Reese Connor has recently retired from a super secret multi-national military unit that's so covert, it doesn't even have a name. He's spent the major portion of his life dodging bullets and fighting for Queen and country. Men like him don't often get a happily ever after or a retirement. Usually they go out in blaze of glory with little to no recognition for his service and very few even mourning his passing. So yeah, he's looking forward to finally enjoying this opportunity of retirement with a well deserved trip to Vegas where he intends to engage in a different kind of special ops - wine, women and lots of action - between the sheets action, that is, doing the horizontal mambo. Or at least he was until his former unit teammate and fellow werebear Daniel Bradbury called and asked him to detour to a backwater town in Tennessee to check on his little sister, Bobbi Bradbury. But Danny is more than just a teammate, he's also a friend. They had shared blood, sweat and more firefights than either cared to count but in all that time, Danny had never even mentioned his family, much less a sister - and a beautiful, curvy, human sister, at that! Wait - What? Human? Oh yes, very human! And as it turns out - Bobbi Bradbury is much more than the sister of his friend - she's also his mate! Oh my! It's seldom that a shifter ever finds their mate because she-bears are rare but a true mate being human - well, that's downright unheard of. Nevertheless, she's his mate and Danny is definitely going to kill him. What's a bear to do??? Why, claim his mate, of course. Regrettably, there are a few problems standing in his way. One, the local criminal bully, Conrad Jackson, has his sights set on his prize and intends to claim Bobbi as his. And two, although Bobbi knew she was adopted, she just never knew she'd been adopted by an Ursanthrope couple and has no earthly idea that werebears exist much less the fact that Reese and her brother are both bear-shifters. Oh my!
Big, bold and beautiful Bobbi Bradbury has no time for men or relationships. She's too busy working to maintain her parents dream, the motel and restaurant in Banford - until now! All bets are off when a hot, handsome bear of a man walks into her diner. You see, Bobbi has a thing for bears. She absolutely loves them. She even collects them. Coincidence? I think not! But this cute teddy bear is so much more than he seems! Oh my! Buckle up my lovelies! Here we go again! Deliciously cute, seriously sexy and delightfully entertaining!

Reese is retired from special ops and on his way home..when his best friend, fellow soldier and bear shifter Danny asks a favor, check up on his feisty human little sister who was never made aware of shifters.
Bobbie owns and runs a small town restaurant and motel since her adoptive parents died in a car accident and her brother is still deployed. Even small towns like Banford can have its criminal elements, Conrad Jackson who owns the town and wants to own her and Cole Riley who extorts from everyone else.
Bobbie walks into a shakedown in her restaurant by two thugs, a big growly bear of a man with a lovely accent intervened and neatly shows them the door. A very thankful and turned on from the display of testosterone, Bobbie offers Reese a room in the motel. No way is Reese going to refuse especially since his bear has recognized his mate and thing are about to get very hot and interesting.
Great fast paced,action filled storyline. Love the characters and you can't go wrong with a steaming hot sexy bear shifter that will do anything to protect his mate! Only complaint it ended to fast...I wanted more!

CAN'T EVEN BEGIN TO TELL YOU HOW IMPRESSED

I was blown away with this product but not or the reasons you may think. The whole thought doing my will and trust was a bit morbid -- I have been putting it off for years. Even though the audio was very informative and Suze took you though the questionniare step by step; I had some unsual circumstances so I still had specific questions as to my personal situation. I expected when I contacted customer service to receive some generic response back but instead my questions were personally answered by Suze's trust attorney.

As much as I loved the program, I intially found the will was not adequate for my needs since I wanted to leave cash gifts to several nieces and nephews -- when I expressed my dilema to customer support they told me they would get back to me -- I was shocked when they told me in the update they were working on they would be adding this option in the will. I just downloaded the update and I can now leave cash gifts to my relatives. I had an attorney friend review the will to get his thoughts and he told me it was one of the best wills he has ever seen

The program is fabulous, easy to use, informative -- everything you would expect from Suze Orman; I just never thought I would get this level of customer service from a product under $20.

Happy camper with this one

I was very much helped by this software. It provided me with everything that I needed to create the will and trust forms that I should have done yeas ago but postponed because of the high cost of having a lawyer helping me out with it. It's an incredible value. Very easy to follow. It's like your teacher is standing behind you looking over your shoulder giving you instructions every step of the way. No snags whatsoever--and I did it for some other family members as well. Could not be happier ---for the money I paid--I got a lot done.

SO MUCH MORE THAN A WILL TRUST KIT

I must tell you this product is so much more than just a Will & Trust kit. I was able to get my passport, and replace my birth certificate and get my Dad's military records using the links in the More Documents section. It includes 10 electronic guidebooks with detailed information. And the CD-ROM even includes helpful calculators on everything from term insurance to retirement to getting out of credit card debt.

The will & trust docuemtns were easy to create and the audio was very informative.

I would recommend this product highly.

Lots of sex!

I'll start by saying that I think JP is a very good writer. There is depth to her characters and lots of drama in her plots. But I don't always like the characters. That was true with this book. I didn't particularly like Ethan. Yes he has trust issues, I won't spoil it here, but I didn't feel he made good choices and I didn't like how he treated Jayden. I don't think Jayden understood what he was getting in to, and don't think Ethan introduced Jayden to BDSM in the best way. I liked Lexi and the relationship between the three of them, but Ethan and Jayden alone didn't always work for me. Just my opinion...

That being said, I liked the story overall. Good drama amongst the three of them, good external drama as well, although it detracts from the relationship focused story line sometimes. Good sex (almost a bit too much), but a rough ending. As with the Little Boy Lost series, there isn't a happy ending for all parties. Yet. Took a bunch of books in the LBL series, I'm hoping we'll get that here. I'm off to read the next book...

Wow.

I absolutely loved this book and feel the least I could do to show my support for this author was to give it a raving review. I was impressed by the reviews it recieved and intrigued by the synopsis so I gave it a try. I'm so grateful I did. It was truly an emotional experience.

I have read a few good books lately, but not since Twilight. Yes, Twilight, Have I read a book where it was an emotional experience and I felt a serious loss after reading the last page. I didn't want the book to end.

I was absolutely enraptured by the relationship between Jayden and Ethan. Two sizzling hot guys. I have to admit, I never developed any strong feelings for Lexi, but I can appreciate her importance to the story and Jayden and Ethan's story.

The sex was HOTT. It kept you in a perpetual state of arousal, which was sick. And the dialogue was unbelievable. The author used a minimal amount of dialogue during the sex/love scenes but the impact was tremendous.

My only complaint is that there were a few sections that I totally skipped because they paled in comparison to the scenes featuring the three main characters.

I am eagerly awaiting the next book. You will not be disappointed with this book.

I just thought that this book was OK. I felt like there was too much going on for it to have ended the way that it did. I felt very unfufilled at the end. There is supposedly a continuation, and I will likely read it to get a sense of what happened.

As far as the sensualness, the book was very hot as far as sex scenes and BDSM sessions go, but the story was lacking.

Also, , there were spelling errors in the book. There was a big one where instead of using the word indicated, the word indicted was used. That gets me out of the world of the characters and back into reality very quickly. It's like splashing cold water on someone.
I feel like if I am paying fo the book, then someone needs to do some editing. It certainly wasn't the worst as far as typos and grammar goes, but it does have a few in there.

About the Author
Anthony Minardi is a marine biologist and educator. He has studied and published on the subject for more than forty years, with a particular focus on northeast coast of the United States. Mr. Minardi is the former chair of the science department of East Hampton High School, New York. He has also been assistant professor of biology at Southampton College, Chapman College, and Syracuse University. As part of his doctoral research, Mr. Minardi performed field and laboratory studies at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute, Massachusetts. Mr. Minardi was named Outstanding Biology Teacher (New York State) in 1986.

A fascinating look at the grotesque's religious implications

Standing always at the edge of society's consciousness is a group of artistic works that repel as they fascinate: the grotesque. Dismissed by the "respectable," and often condemned for their absurdity, incongruity, and perceived immorality, they nonetheless hold powerful sway in the popular imagination. Sordid pagan tales of incest and bloodletting, the medieval carnival, commedia dell'arte--these popular uprisings of the grotesque imagination reveal, through their marginalized position in the cultural scene, deep seated impulses that polite society has suppressed.
Yates surveys four major theoretical approaches to the grotesque-Wolfgang Kayser's grotesque as demonic "other," Mikhail Bahktin's edenic carnival, Geoffrey Harpham's notion of the grotesque as the process of becoming, and Ewa Kuryluk's feminist interpretation of the grotesque as an expression of subdued or oppressed "anti-worlds." Yates uses these theorists to identify major themes in grotesque art that speak to religious impulses: bafflement over the meaning of human existence; the dread of non-existence; man's ability to create; and our perception of the world as fallen.
Roger Hazelton's "The Grotesque, Theologically Considered" seems to express the central insight of this book: that the grotesque, like theology, forces us to reflect on mystery properly conceived. As Hazelton says:

Mystery is not a synonym for residual ignorance which will be dispelled when the sciences get around to it. Neither can it simply be equated with the unknown or unknowable. . . . Theology and grotesque art . . . find a certain affinity in a common persuasion that mystery remains a real and radical feature of our existing in the world-something not reducible to the aims and methods of technical expertise . . . thus compelling other kinds of human response and acknowledgment.

For Hazelton, the grotesque, in expressing the mystery of Being recalls to us theology's enunciation of "that abiding, confiding trust and loyalty called faith."
Also notable in this collection is Wolfgang Stechow's consideration of Hieronymus Bosch, whose Garden of Earthly Delights was placed by Spain's King Philip II at the altar of the Escorial. Bosch has long been a puzzle to art critics and the faithful alike. Praised by a Spanish monk at the time of its completion as a bold representation of man "as he is on the inside," the painting, with Dante's Inferno, ranks among the best commentaries of the grotesque nature of sin. The book also boasts an excellent examination of the gravedigger's scene from Hamlet and a previously unpublished play by Robert Penn Warren, Ballad of a Sweet Dream of Peace: A Charade for Easter.
The only disappointment in the collection is the essay that James Luther Adams wrote in the '70s before abandoning the project for a quarter century. "The Grotesque and Our Future" studiously avoids discussion of the deeper insights about man and religion the grotesque affords, instead confining himself to banal policy pronouncements. He quotes approvingly the call for a "revitalized United Nations" as the antidote to 20th century violence, a suggestion that gains a grotesque irony in the post-Sarajevo era. Surveying the cultural scene, he finds nothing more "typically and pathetically grotesque" than the spectacle of "the president's daughter tutoring two inner-city children at the White House." (One feels Dr. Adams has not looked hard enough.) Given the fact that we seem to be experiencing a uprising of the grotesque in popular music and movies--notice for example, Quentin Tarantino--this essay is a missed opportunity to discuss what the grotesque may say about our culture's future.
Still, in all, The Grotesque in Art and Literature is fascinating reading: well written, insightful, synthesizing various disciplinary approaches in an attempt to gain a view of the whole subject. Moreover, the subject of the grotesque may well become one of great interest to believers in the postmodern era. As American culture itself becomes more and more grotesque, there may be much insight to gain from art and literature that stands on the cultural edge and gazes back to the center.
